For Your GRAMMY® Consideration
The sophomore album from Cara Paige
The Album
Light. Hope. Faith. is a roots gospel record in the oldest sense of the words: testimony, grace, and mustard-seed faith, told in plain language with Georgia clay on its boots. Written from real life and sung like a conversation after Sunday service, it carries the gospel tradition — witness, praise, temptation, and deliverance — into the world we actually live in.
It opens the way a revival does: You’re Making Me a Believer is a testimony of a soul walking out of the shadow of doubt — miracles happening, angels singing, faith found one day at a time. Paint Me in Your Colors is a sinner’s prayer for grace (“color me a sinner, color me a saint”), God’s glory reflected in sunflower fields and Georgia pines, and All it Takes is a Little Faith presses a mustard seed into the hand of anyone barely holding on. Like all good gospel, the record knows the serpent by name: Snake Hunting and Devil Don’t Mess With Me meet the deceiver with old-time defiance — “don’t need the apple, don’t trust the snake, my soul ain’t for sale today.” We All Bleed Crimson Red preaches loving thy neighbor across our deepest divides, and the title track delivers the altar call — be the light, the hope, and the faith — before If God Had a Number closes the record the way faith actually works: trusting heaven with every unanswered why.
Every song was written by Cara Paige with collaborators Justine Blazer, Corey Lee Barker, Steve O’Brien, Nona Lisa, and Danica Hart — except the closing track, If God Had a Number, which Cara wrote alone. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Justine Blazer.
